Massachusetts House Approves Local Bills, Concurs With Senate Before Holiday Recess

BOSTON -- July 2, 2026, Massachusetts House clears local bills and a community honor in a brief July 2 informal session. The chamber, meeting under Speaker Ronald Mariano, unanimously adopted a resolution honoring Diane Gould for her service through the advocacy organization Advocates, on a measure filed by Representatives Priscila S. Sousa, Joseph D. McKenna, Jack Patrick Lewis, Danielle W. Gregoire, and Daniel M. Donahue. Three local bills, covering vessel transportation in Marstons Mills and Osterville in Barnstable, a naming designation for the Hyannis Transportation Center, and a conservation restriction in Middleton, were advanced to third reading by voice vote. The House also concurred with Senate amendments on House 4231, relative to parking enforcement in Cambridge, and passed House 3366, designating April 5 as Kohlschutter-Tonnis Neurodevelopment Syndrome Awareness Day, to be engrossed. The session closed with a unanimous vote to adjourn to Monday, July 7, at 11 a.m.
