Senate Passes Stoneham Land Transfer Bill, Sends It to Governor

BOSTON — March 2, 2026 — Massachusetts Senate clears Stoneham land transfer bill and three local measures in a brief Monday session. The chamber passed House No. 4643, authorizing the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to convey a parcel of land in Stoneham, to be enacted and sent to the governor after an emergency preamble cleared on a 2-0 standing vote. The Senate also passed House No. 4502, amending Arlington's Town Manager Act, to be engrossed, and concurred in a further House amendment to House No. 3898, adjusting the timeline for a Natick charter election to a date "after March 31, 2026." Several House petitions were referred to committee under a suspension of Joint Rule 12, and the Senate adopted a resolution commending the New England Hemophilia Association for Bleeding Disorders Awareness Month before adjourning to meet Thursday, March 5, at 11 a.m.
