Massachusetts House Passes Nine Bills to Engrossment in Ten-Minute Session

BOSTON — February 12, 2026 — The Massachusetts House advanced nine bills and engrossed four others in a roughly ten-minute informal session on February 12, clearing measures on banking-law updates, a local-option property-tax exemption for volunteer firefighters and EMTs, property tax bill delivery, and a waiver of Boston's firefighter age requirement for a named candidate. The House also passed to engrossment H. 4374, designating a Sandwich overpass as the U.S. Marine Staff Sergeant Raymond G. Torville Veteran Memorial Overpass, and H. 4753, amending the Westwood town charter. Representative Rob Consalvo of Boston moved suspension of Joint Rule 12 to advance a petition by Representative James K. Hawkins establishing a board to oversee occupancy payments for manufactured housing community residents in Attleboro, which was referred to the Committee on Municipalities and Regional Government. Representative Michelle L. Badger of Plymouth moved the procedural suspension that allowed the nine-bill package to advance to third reading. Speaker Ronald Mariano of Quincy set the next session for Tuesday at 11 a.m., and all actions were approved unanimously by voice vote.
