Senate orders DTA employee sick leave bank bill to third reading

BOSTON — March 9, 2026 — The Massachusetts Senate advanced a House-passed sick leave bank bill for a state employee in a session that lasted under five minutes Monday. Presiding over the sparse session, the chamber took up House No. 5014, which would establish a sick leave bank for Sonia Felix, an employee of the Department of Transitional Assistance. Senator Ryan C. Fattman moved to suspend the rules to allow immediate consideration, and the bill was ordered to a third reading on a unanimous voice vote. Fattman also secured adoption of an adjournment order directing the Senate to reconvene Thursday, March 12, at 11 a.m. The bill has not yet been engrossed and must clear a final Senate vote before heading to the governor.
