Massachusetts Senate Passes Three Boston Police Age-Waiver Bills in Rapid Session

BOSTON — March 26, 2026 — Massachusetts Senate clears three Boston Police age-waiver bills and a Nantucket charter update in a session lasting under five minutes. Meeting Thursday, the chamber passed to be engrossed House No. 3925, House No. 4740, and House No. 4572, each directing the Boston Police Department to waive its maximum hiring-age requirement for a named individual — Pierre-Charles Darius, Ryan Cazzo, and Duomi Primera, respectively. The Senate also passed to be enacted House No. 4504, an act making the Nantucket County charter gender neutral, sending that measure to the Governor. All actions were by unanimous voice vote, Joint Rule 12 was suspended to allow the Primera bill to be considered forthwith, and the chamber adjourned to meet again Monday, March 30, at 11 a.m.
