Massachusetts House unanimously enacts $300 million FY2026 supplemental budget

BOSTON — April 6, 2026 — Massachusetts House enacts a $300 million supplemental budget for fiscal year 2026 in a single floor session. The bill, House 5348, was reported by the Committee on Ways and Means after originating as a message from the governor seeking funds to supplement existing appropriations and respond to recent federal actions. House Ways and Means Chair Aaron Michlewitz of Boston moved to suspend the rules and advance the bill through second reading, engrossment, and final enactment in rapid succession; a constitutional division vote recorded three members in the affirmative and none in the negative before a voice vote confirmed final passage.
