Massachusetts House Passes Municipal Roads Financing Bill With Emergency Status

BOSTON — May 26, 2026 — The Massachusetts House passed a municipal roads and bridges financing bill under emergency status and engrossed a Worcester police appointment age measure during a 13-minute informal session May 26. House Bill 5375, financing long-term improvements to municipal roads and bridges, cleared its emergency preamble on a 7-to-0 division vote, allowing it to take effect immediately upon enactment. House Bill 3929, setting minimum age requirements for original appointment as a police officer in Worcester, passed to be engrossed and now advances to the Senate.
